  1. I'm a fan of the UWT trigger - I run it with my Sony camera & Nauticam, housing - one way to preserve its battery life (it runs on 2 CR2032 which is pretty common) - is to set your camera to turn off in 15-30 seconds of non-use - this keeps the camera from sending the signal to the trigger & puts the trigger in off mode
  2. Hi - I just moved from Littleton in March to Pagosa Springs - welcome
  3. If purchased, I would assume its not a USA version If you buy internationally: The warranty is generally valid only in the country of purchase. For example, a camera bought in Japan or Europe will not automatically be covered in the U.S. unless it is part of Sony’s “international warranty” program
  4. Question - how do you like your tripod set-up? Especially when you are topside on the boat, some boats have a limited area on their camera tray & then while on your dive, where do you put the tripod legs? I don't shoot video but there are times when shooting super macro stills, I really want to try and limit any camera movement
  5. The Retra Pro Max 2 has a 4900k value with no diffuser attached. Unless I am shooting super wide angle; I don't use the diffusers. Their wide diffusers when do shoot them does change it to a 4400k light value. But to run thru the other diffusers they do sell: - the Shark drops it to a 3900k, the white does not change the 4900k & soft drops it to a 4700k When shooting macro, I shoot my Sony is AWB - it's just that with the FCP I find shooting @ a 4400k value works really well.
  6. In addition to this I would add, don't put your wet neoprene cover back on after the rinse tank - dry the lens & put on a clean dry neoprene cover. I always carry 2 neoprene covers on each dive trip - one for the boat ride/getting in/out of the water and one after the rinse tank & wiping it down - if your small boat doesn't have a rinse tank, at the least wipe the salt water off the lens and cover it with a towel if in direct sun
  7. Thanks - looks to retail at $1,600USD I'd be interested (as well as others) in seeing it set up on your rig, some pics it takes & your thoughts when you get it wet - thanks
  8. Here are a few strobe positions that could also assist you if you don't have a snoot - though a reducer ring on your strobes could be a good investment to limit the light cast
  9. That looks promising, especially when the Nauticam triple flip is listed for more than twice the $399 USD amount - please update when available if you could as I might get one for my rig
  10. What Nauticam wet lens ports would you think will work with this lens, as I don't think Nauticam has gotten around to post yet?
  11. Welcome - from a former JRZY now living in the mountains of Colorado

  13. Based on the flexibility of being able to use a 28-60mm lens underwater, the quality of shots which I believe it produces is very good - yes I would buy again - but this is coming from someone that is not an expert, not going to enter any pics in contests, magazines or even post on social media. One thing I would add is that I don't shoot this dome port with Auto White Balance set, I set my camera to 4400k with my Retra flash, which I find gives a good white balance
  14. I use my Macbook Pro M1 - it does all the basic stuff I need it to do, white balance, color curves, colors, sharpen images, clean-up - and best of all, its FREE I would love to try lightroom or something, but their prices for which I would only use a few times a year and I don't need their storage is expensive
  15. I'm 63 & still diving, in fact, now retired so I can dive more !!!
