Sony 100mm macro with MFO-3, add SMC?
What does the MFO-1 get you in this setup? Is it mainly the better working distance for black water, or does it improve clarity too? Do you use it on macro daylight dives?

Sony 100mm macro with MFO-3, add SMC?
After enjoying macro a ton with my 28-60 + CMC2, I'm planning to upgrade my macro setup and get the 100mm macro lens to pair with my A1 body. I've seen lots of people love the MFO-3 especially for black water photography so I was going to add that to my setup with a flip adapter. My unknown is whether it's worth it to add an SMC to the setup as well? It's relevant now because I'd buy a double-flip instead of a single if I would want the SMC. But, if I'll be happy without the SMC then I'll save the $$ and weight of buying a double flip. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated!

Photography tips for Tonga
I didn't have my big rig when I did the snorkle tour in Tonga, so no first hand recommendations. But, you'll be swimming flat out just to keep up with the whales. Be careful bringing too much additional drag with you, as it'll end up slowing you down and make you miss a bunch of photos. Like @Dave_Hicks suggested something with a zoom where you can easily adjust to the rapidly changing distances/angles will be super helpful. Finally, the whales are there to eat, and there's a ton of plankton in the water. Be prepared for logs of cloudy water.

Proven 3D printed Parts For Underwater Imaging
Potentially not the most useful, but has anyone made a focus ring for the Sony 100mm f2.8 GM macro lens? I imagine I'll nearly exclusively use auto focus but if there's a ring that's easy to print it'll be kind of nice to have the option.

Sony A1 viewfinder sensor preventing sleep?
Yup, I did a test this morning. I took the camera out of the housing, and set it to vf (manual). The viewfinder still doesn’t come on until the eye sensor is tripped. So I guess even in the manual modes the eye sensor is still active. I’ll just continue using the power switch.

Sony A1 viewfinder sensor preventing sleep?
Thanks @ChipBPhoto and @bghazzal. That is how I have mine setup, finder/monitor manual with C3 to swap. In monitor the camera goes to sleep just fine, but not when the viewfinder is active. I assume it’s due to the eye sensor but I’m not sure. I’ll try again out of the housing and see if that works.

Sony A1 viewfinder sensor preventing sleep?
I’m on my first trip with my A1 in a nauticam housing. Above water the camera sleeps normally after 10s of inactivity. But in the housing, the camera won’t sleep. I think it’s the eye sensor picking up the housing? If I set the camera to manual screen then the camera will sleep so, but I’d much rather use the view finder. Is there some setting I’m missing, or a trick y’all have figured out to fix this? Otherwise I’ll resign myself to using the power switch all the time.

WaterPixels Shop Open!!
I place an order with a donation and a sticker back at the beginning of May but haven't gotten it yet. I'm guessing the system flagged it as having nothing to ship?

Arm lengths and overall clutter.
Very clever! I don't know why I didn't even consider putting the lanyard holders inside. I put them between the handle and the face of the clamp like the ULCS product page shows.

Arm lengths and overall clutter.
Have you had any instances with the bungee loops at the end of your arms presenting any sort of entanglement issues during the dive?
-
Arm lengths and overall clutter.
I used them for a while, and they're nice because they're cheap and can "upgrade" an existing clamp. However, I ended up buying new clamps with an integral shackle due to a few issues. First, the lanyard metal would frequently bind with the screw so adjusting the clamp meant wiggling the lanyard holder to move things. This was most noticeable when loosening because the spring wasn't strong enough to push the metal out. Second, when I was getting out of the water and had the clamps tightened, any swaying of the lanyard would work the clamps loose enough that the (heavy) strobes could swing around and hit the housing or flop out and get much wider.
