  1. I'd say if you're a still photographer wanting to shoot more video, like me, this is a great choice. It's my choice, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. It shoots oversampled 4k 60p, has good rolling shutter specs. There's a 1.3x crop with stabilization, and something like 1.5x crop if you shoot 4k 120p, which is not great. All of this means that it's got the specs we want, and Sony's autofocusing is top of the class. Dunno about the setting white balance, but my guess is that it's doable.
  2. For the 1" balls on Ultralight Control System hardware, they recommend Buna O Rings size 2-209, or Danco #95 15/16 x 11/16 x 1/8 inches. (I really prefer metric measurements).
  3. Really good stuff people! @RVBldr @Chris Ross @jlaity @scubadiggy @bvanant
  4. @coweyman Welcome to Waterpixels. I navigate the site thinking that if I'm thinking about something, I'm usually late to the party, so searching for subjects is a good idea. I don't like the old school search parameters we use though.
  5. It seems bulky is inescapable. Much like middle-age spread and reading glasses. The three ball clamps work fine, but I also like to use the cold shoes on the housing or port, and fastener bolt holes on some housings.
  6. That bare arm is begging you to spend more money! It has the look of a peg-legged pirate.
  7. That's from a GoPro Hero 7 black. I was shooting my A6000 with a 90 macro.
  8. Did you use the SEL11mm on that clip? Looks nice, and I like the music. Seems that would be a good focal length for APS-c video and stills.
  9. My bad, I glanced at that scorpionfish and my brain thought frogfish. This short clip is the frogfish I was thinking of. Couldn't make a decent still frame of it. GX010410 2.mov
  10. @calbeardiver Welcome to Waterpixels. Yep, Waterpixels is close to flat-lining. Very sad that.
  11. @Antoine de Brisbane Warm welcome to Waterpixels!
  12. That does sound more useful. I was wondering how to get another lens to work with an SMC/CMC. But this, in effect, will likely increase magnification, say 1:1 to something a bit more. The Canon RF 100 macro does 1:1.4 but might do more, eh?
  13. @Craine Good stuff! I ran across a frogfish today. Sometimes they're so damn hard to photograph.
  14. @Nate Hsu Hi Nate. Warm welcome to Waterpixels. There are quite a few obsessives here. It's a good thing.

  16. Welcome to Waterpixels Maria!
  17. Agree. Those colors are borderline ridiculous.
  18. Updated to show the Nauticam flash trigger has been sold. Up for sale is a Nauticam housing for the Sony A7c in very good condition. Comes with UW Technics flash trigger and a Nauticam Sony flash trigger. It is vacuum ready. You just need the button and cap. It has fewer than 100 dives on her, and I would go far longer before I would consider servicing. $1750 $1700 plus $30 shipping. Add 3.49% if you require an invoice. 30 day money back guarantee from the date of delivery.
  19. Hi Hernan. Welcome to Waterpixels!
  20. The port in the photo is a 36128, n85 macro port 45 with focus/zoom knob. The 50 macro is slow to focus with older bodies. I've used it with my A7c, and it was passable. Not super speedy as it covers a 1:1 to infinity. The lens does extend when focusing closer.
  21. The FE 50mm f2.8 macro will fit through an N85 opening. It's a bit tight fitting into a macro port 45, and will need some extension or a much longer flat port to work. I haven't tried the lens with my A6000, but it seems like it can work.
  22. Most wet wide lenses like the WWL-1 are unwieldy, so it's unlikely a flip diopter could accommodate it. If you do use a wet wide lens and close up lens at the same time, I would use a quick release bayonet mount, with similar mount(s) on the arms to hold the lens you're not using. But I agree with @Troporobo that trying to do both on one dive is difficult. I've tried it, and ended up destroying reef as I struggled to remove and replace lenses. Better to decide whether shooting wide or tight will work best on a particular dive. If you're planning on shooting fish portraits and smaller creatures, then the flip diopter will work fine. Stix floats are not regular foam. They are treated to maintain tiny air pockets that do not collapse in water. They look cheap in photos but they're durable and you can adjust buoyancy by adding or subtracting. The "large" floats displace 96 g, and the "jumbo" floats displace 181g. One 20 cm Ultralight arm can hold three jumbos.
  23. I've had a Nauticam float fail. Water seeped into it at depth. Nauticam said they improved sealing on those things, but I'm with @TimG the Stix floats look cheap in photos but they're durable and you can adjust buoyancy by adding or subtracting. The "large" floats displace 96 g, and the "jumbo" floats displace 181g. One 20 cm ultralight arm can hold three jumbos.
  24. @Valerie Wrede That GH5 housing does look pretty beat up. What’s with the electrics on your housing? Seems to me the housings are mostly mechanical. Just the vacuum or flooding electrics unless I’m missing something.
