Hello, I’d like to ask a question: based on what you’ve said, it seems possible to mount the MX double flip on ports other than Marelux or Nauticam—for instance, would it be compatible with S&S ports that have an M67 thread? How does the protrusion of the CMC-1 lens fit relative to the thread? I’m looking at double-flip holders to mount Nauticam lenses on S&S ports. Many thanks.

Many thanks to everyone for your feedback. I still use the ports and domes with an Isotta housing with D500. And as mentioned, I have the viewfinder for sale, and I’ll be putting the electrical cables up for sale shortly. To be honest, I was thinking of a much lower price—around €200 for the housing and the two D300 bodies, lol, 😅 I’m raising funds for my next piece of underwater gear = GAS 😃

Hi everyone, I have an old Sea & Sea MDX-D300 underwater housing for the Nikon D300. It has seen a lot of use and a few of the buttons are no longer working properly. I also have a replacement O-ring kit that I bought with the intention of giving the housing a full overhaul, but I never got around to doing it. Along with the housing, I have two Nikon D300 camera bodies. Both are heavily used and show quite a lot of cosmetic wear, but they are still in working condition. Do you think any of this still has some value on the second-hand market, either as a complete set or separately? Or is it basically too old and worn to be worth selling? I’d rather not throw it all away if someone could still make use of it. Thanks!

It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Red Sea, but I wouldn’t leave my macro gear at home; macro can be interesting for night dives and certain other dives.

To be honest, I like the idea of the photography contest, although having to pay for each photo entered doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I think that selling a calendar featuring the winning images could raise funds for the forum, so there wouldn't need to be an entry fee—at least, that's how I see it.

In the end, for various reasons, we didn't go in 2026. This week I was checking availability for next year (2027), and everything was already fully booked. Anyway, I’ve just done something crazy and booked with Tongan Expeditions for September 2028... I’ll have time to save up, and my future self will have to pay for the flights and the trip in a couple of years 😅

In my case, I currently use 2 S&S D3 Duo with zero problems. And was using before two D2 also with no problems at all. Planning to update the D3 for the new ones YS-D130R this year.

I am currently using an Isotta for the D500, using it with all the ports I own from the old S&S that I have for the D300. I also had an Isotta for the Canon G11 a while ago. I am also happy with it.

Interesting. Isotta also recommends 200 dives or 2 years. And how often do you change the o-ring of the housing? My last S&S D300 housing it had like 15 years and didn’t change it even once.

I'm asking for help again. I’m unsure if this is a Weedy scorpionfish (Rhinopias frondosa) or not. It looks quite similar to me but for the images I see I’m not sure. What do you think? Taken on Tulamben, Bali. Thank you.

This one is from Tulamben, Bali. I am having quite a hard time identifying some frogfish, I’m not sure if they are juveniles from any species or simply a little frogfish, lol. For reference I’m looking a quite good webpage only for frogfishes but I’m struggling knowing which specie could it be. I’m struggling basically with almost any frogfish image that I have. Did anyone test MFO-3 on a housing other than Nauticam? I currently use Isotta with S&S ports and a Saga flip with M67. I’m not sure the position of the thread, not at the end of the lens, could cause problems using other flip holder than Nauticam.

Hi, For my last trip, I was looking for a bag that was large enough, had wheels, and was as light as possible. In the end, I bought the Mares Cruise Roller, enough space for one full diving equipment (BCD + fins + regulator + wetsuit + clothes + other stuff) and in only 3kg. Is also foldable when empty. It was the lighter I could find big enough for my needs. It has the disadvantage that once it is full it is not very stable when upright, but not big deal. It's proven to be very helpful for me.
