I understand that those are only leaks and the final camera might be completely different, however how this will compare with the INSTA X5?

what is not clear to me is:

the definition say 8K but then in video resolution in single camera is 4k, so do the calculate 4k X 2 cameras? is that the same in the INSTA X5?

another this that don't understand is this: "When capturing 360° content, the Osmo 360’s CMOS sensor provides an imaging area equivalent to a 1-inch CMOS sensor with a 4:3 aspect ratio", so it's not a physical 1' inch sensor are 2 halves?

I'll start by saying that I'm not very good at this topic, but generally speaking, the Insta360 X5 has two sensors, one for each lens. This is the normal design for cameras that take 360-degree pictures for people to use, like the Insta360 X-series. Each lens takes a picture of a part of the area (a little more than 180 degrees). Then, the two pictures are put together by the camera to make one round 360-degree picture or video.

the overlapped part is used to remove the stick.

The X5 has two 1/1.28" inch sensors.

Rumors says that the new Osmo could have two 1" sensors.

In both cases you get an image as having one sensor.

It's difficult to assess how it works exactly Before they launch the camera. Sometimes you have to read the fine prints 😉

Thanks for posting this, the New OSMO 360 looks very interesting and it will be great to see how it compares to the Go Pro Max 360 and the Insta 360 X5. As Davide said, it's hard to assess how good it is going to be until it's released, although I've read that the battery life may not be as good.

I've just found this video online which may help a bit. Hope it does :)

I'm sure that it will have two 1" sensor. By the way INSTA360 has also a 1 inch edition version but it has not became too popular and there is no affordable underwater housing available for it. The image quality of the X5 is similar, if not better, so there are not so many underwater videos with the one inch version. It will be most probably a fixed focus camera, so I suspect not so good close focus abilities. Price will be interesting. Competition is good.
