Does anyone has printed a 1" ball arm?

I need one very short one and consider printing one.

Does anyone tried it, and can recommend or give the "hands off" signal?

Yes it can be done. You need to put a bolt through it to ensure the stem is strong enough. And use a proper oring. I would use .1mm layers, 6 walls and petg or asa for the print.

So you just leave it hollow and put a long bolt through it?

But then the weight advantage over metal ball mounts is gone, isn't it?

@Marcomaniac you can buy some backelite ball like that image.png

You will find some by Amazon or other providers.

I use such pieces since over 10 years... I never had any problems with it.

Not breaking off is a big advantage. It's going to be a lot lighter if the strobe on that ball is on the sea bed.
