Hi All,

I've seen a little conversation about using the Canon 8-15mm, with and without 1.4TC and/or crop mode.

Just wondering if there's a source for the two zoom gear 3d print files (with and without TC)?

Any links to files or people who know would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Dan

Thank you.

Presumably, I can also chop 19mm out of this if I didn't want to use the 1.4TC?

More information

There's also posts on the forum about using the Sony 2x with the 8-15 along with the metabones adapter on the forum. This gives full diagonal fisheye through to about the equivalent of a 14mm lens, very flexible arrangement. I have one adapted to an OM-1 and it provides great flexibility and the optics are excellent. With this setup you have camera - Sony 2x - Metabones - lens.

Do you print your own gears or do you get someone to print them for you? One of our forum members, @Gudge has printed zoom gears for me, he's based in Perth if you need someone to print them. He may have a design already.

I'm keeping an eye out for a good priced Sony 2x. Would be interesting to try.

I print my own gears. I've just adapted the model that @Dave_Hicks shared above to be more like my current one I used on my Seafrogs housing. This doesn't require the rubber/TPU adapter and i've found it to work well. This is the standard gear, with TC extension. I'll still need to test it once I get the housing.

It's one of most debated here, actually. As Chris wrote, it's plenty of threads. Every time we discuss about wide angle and wet lens, this combination pops up as a valid, travel friendly, alternative.

Just search "8-15mm" or "kenko".

Ciao
