Marelux 5" to Nauticam N85 Port Adapter Options
Another option: Try contact Saga. They have a lot of Frankenstein adapters on their site and I know for sure they make custom ports/adapters.

MFO-3 with Olympus 60mm macro
- Video practice input, please
H-265 it's not a viable codec for sharing. Use H-264. On the Deliver page, on the top left you can choose between several presets (ready made export settings). Try YouTube or others but not H-265. If it doesn't work, it's not a Resolve export problem.- Video practice input, please
Hi Kristin, Are you using Davinci Resolve? Which preset? I've never used FB Messenger, sorry.- Preview of the MFO-2 - Now called MFO-3
I discovered that Nauticam updated its M43 port chart including MFO-1, MFO-3 and SMC-3. These new lens are listed for both Pana 45mm and Oly 90mm. Google DocsN85 Micro Four Thirds System 2025-08-27.pdf- Kraken 5.5 "ultra bright"u/w monitor

Hi Mike, Welcome aboard!!!- Carrying an MFO-3??
Yes, i would say a sidemount pouch is perfect but quite expensive Edit: cheap neoprene lens pouch:- Choose the right Kelvin setting
@Gmsalterego you got from @eocean-eu the same reply as mine, plus a nice explicative image.- Insta360 X5 underwater
Yes, most of people believe that a 8K 360 camera is a real 8K after 3D reframing 🤡 Yes and no. They are using clips from the 360 to get 4K frames. Original reframe resolution is 2.7K at best, and as you wrote, it decreases narrowing the FOV. In the meantime I read Insta360 and DJI forums and I confirm that their software upscale the video internally. As you see in this (and other) review , in good light conditions the results are simply amazing. I dare you to notice that the UHD clips in this video are upscaled. The math applied to silicon has made a lot of progress lately ;) So, if these cameras are able to get these amazing results on land and such terrible ones underwater, I wonder if it's a problem with the geometry of the housing or even a problem with the upscaling algorithm itself (screwed clip metadata?). When I played with Topaz AI, I remember there are different algorithms optimized for the type of image you're processing.- Hello
Welcome aboard! Ciaoooo- Insta360 X5 underwater
Basically unusable for any work except some social network like... I saw the new dive housing: https://store.insta360.com/product/x5-invisible-dive-case-pro?_sc=NzMzMDM3MCMxMTc1MzIy They write: Insta360 X5 automatically recognizes the Invisible Dive Case Pro and enters Dive Case Mode, meaning you can start creating in moments. It's like they have a different stitching algorithm while underwater. And probably it have some impact on image rendering somehow. Total newbie here. The actual resolution of a 2D video exported from a 360-degree camera is significantly lower than the camera's total resolution. It depends mainly on the Field of View (FOV) selected during the "reframing" process. In simple terms, the final 2D video is a "crop" of the 360-degree video sphere. This is because the total resolution of a 360 camera (for example, 5.7K or 8K) is distributed over an entire 360-degree sphere. When you export a 2D video, you are only selecting a small portion of this sphere, so the resolution will be lower. An X5 has an 8K total 360 resolution, which I don't believe reaches a true 4K 2d frame even with a wide FOV. So, since it's possible to export 4K clips, the software does an internal upscaling. This process seems to be strongly impacted by the distortion that occurs in the underwater housing. I'm just thinking out loud here, trying to explain myself this drop in quality in underwater footage, which is absolutely not present in land-based footage. There are excellent examples of its use alongside traditional cinema cameras in many situations with no loss of quality. Looking forward to see some clip shot with this new housing.- New Member

Images are really soft (euphemism). Completely useless except maybe documentation. Maybe the video is a little bit better?- DIY Fluorescence filters?
OUCH THAT IS A MALWARE FOR SURE!- Video practice input, please
I couldn't agree more. With a scene lit halfway between artificial and ambient light, you'll never be able to balance it all (with an action camera). So, it's either full artificial light or nothing. How deep were you? Since you dive often, try following our advice on a dive 😇- DIY Fluorescence filters?
I didn't get it. It didn't show me the classic privacy banner either.- New Nikon ZR Cinema Camera
Yes, I remember the Nauticam housing for the Blackmagic well. However, if Nauticam makes a housing for this camera, I would definitely study the camera manuals. It only has three function buttons, and we'll have to see what functions can be assigned and the overall ergonomics: White Balance, Autofocus Lock, Apertures, and ISO. I read that it has a built-in shutter angle, but some reviews talked about certain limitations with so few buttons. We'll see. Another aspect to understand when the camera ends up in the hands of real users is the quality of the various available codecs. Right now, the shilltubers are all over the RedCode RAW codec. Gerald Undone's review claimed that the files produced by the camera in Nraw, H.264, and H.265 suck, especially compared to the same files produced by the Z-series cameras, and currently the only usable codec is RedCode. I hope it's not true, or that Nikon fixes everything with subsequent upgrades. Nikon has been very good with the updates for the Z series. One second of 6K@60p footage takes up about 470MB, and a 320 GB CF Express card is full in 28 minutes. Okay, it's RAW, but I'd like to have the option to film with a lighter file type when needed. I agree with this 100%. Nikon has all the right cards to seriously shake up the video market, and that's a very positive thing. The price of this camera is also extremely aggressive. $2200 for a camera that films in RedCode is a dream.- New Nikon ZR Cinema Camera
IMHO this is a Frankenstein camera. Nikon chose to start with a low-level camera, and according to many reviewers, with whom I agree, this isn't a Cinema camera but more of a v-logging oriented camera. Its natural competitor is the Sony ZV-E10s, which beats it in every respect. A Cinema camera is a whole other story. You have to have function buttons for everything, while this one seems like a point & shoot camera. Also, you have to remove the battery to change the card, and the door is under the camera, so if you're on a tripod, forget it! The almost complete lack of function buttons is the main reason I see its use in an underwater housing as very problematic. The shutter button is a single one and includes the autofocus. Hmmm. From the tests, it seems to excel only when shooting in RedCode. All the other codecs, including the Nikon one, are implemented in a mediocre way. Also, be careful because the RedCode is 12-bit and not 14 or 16-bit. If you're very interested, I recommend the long CVP review, but to get an idea of the pros and cons of the camera, Gerald Undone's review summarizes everything very well.- Canon RF 11-55mm for Full Frame

Which extension do I need?- New Nikon ZR Cinema Camera
It's a busy time for us video enthusiasts. The big brands seem to have all scheduled something for this week. On September 10th, Nikon presented a new camera exclusively for video. Nikon bought Red a year ago, and this should be the first Nikon camera to incorporate some Red technologies. Key specs: 24.5MP full-frame 'partially Stacked' CMOS sensor Nikon Z-mount 7.5EV IBIS Up to 6K 60p R3D (NE) Raw video codec 4" 1000 nit display CFexpress Type B / microSD Autofocus subject detection for people, animals, vehicles and planes Internal 32-bit float No mechanical shutter The ZR will retail for $2199 – $500 cheaper than the Z6III – and will be available starting October 20th.- New Canon EOS C50 Cinema Camera
It seems really a solid release. A compact "video" camera with all the features we need. It's slightly fatter than FX3. Anamorphic lens underwater are basically impossible to use so the Open Gate 3:2 function is useful for reframing in post production. Another smart function is the ability to record with two aspect ratios at the same time. i.e. 16/9 and 9/16, a cool feature to have for rapid Social network delivery. I find the CVP review the most complete, as usual. I'm afraid that battery life could be its Achille's heel... - Video practice input, please
