Anyone who has been using the MFO3, how are you carrying it around? I looked into getting a dock for a float arm, but it's a fairly big lump for there and there's no stock held right now. I'm off on a dive trip in a few days to Lembeh and I'm bringing it along.

Other thoughts are a pair of those tec-cargo shorts with the big pockets - but seems like it's tight fit in there or I see Scubapro sells a thigh pocket but again I'm not sure it's big enough. I'm not sure I want to use a flip holder for it - seems like it's asking for trouble getting in and out over the rocks at home in Sydney?

Other options or suggestions?

Hey Chris

I had the same sort of hunt a good while ago when trying to find a way of carrying the Retra LSD. Retra used to sell a pouch for the LSD but I don't think there was sufficient demand and they stopped. If anyone has one they don't want, DO let me know!

So I hunted around and found a nylon mesh pouch on Amazon which worked pretty well. Inexpensive, flexible.... and I rigged up a couple of carabiners on to it.

I would put it on a bayonet mount when I’m entering, and use any manner of pouches, fanny packs, etc, when it’s not mounted. I used a fanny pack for the WWL-1 and that worked okay.

Timely topic. After getting advice from some here, I have purchased an LSD, which has not shipped yet. I know that I will need some method to carry the thing during shore entries, on and off boats and perhaps when not "on" a subject. I have been looking for some pouch/pocket options to consider once I have the ting and can get accurate measurements. I think mesh might be best.

Some I am considering (but not sure they will work) include:

Zeagle Expandable Quick Pocket (probably too narrow)

Scubapro S-Tek Expedition Thigh Pocket

Apeks WTX Mesh Expansion Pocket

Zeagle Tech Utility Pocket

Zeagle Zena Utility Pocket

Force6 9x3 pocket

Since I don't have the LSD yet, theses are based on a lot of guesswork. I am not sure which Amazon product Tim chose, and when I looked there were a lot of possible options. Maybe the list above will help Chris and others and I would love any thoughts about what I am considering. They are mostly somewhat expensive for pockets and I don't want to have to buy and return a bunch of stuff.

I use a Apex Cargo pocket WTX large model, mounted on the side, over my BC pocket
Closes with a zipper, has 2 attachments inside onto which I mounted rings. I then clip neoprene lens pouches inside (similar to the one Davide posted) - Fits 2 or 3 diopters.

Hey John

I tried to find in My Orders on Amazon what mesh pouch I had bought - but couldn't find it!

On the LSD, I have a Zeagle BCD and can j-u-s-t about squeeze the LSD into the Zeagle Tech Utility Pouch - the one with a small secondary compartment. The pouch is good as, in addition to the zip closure, it has a D-ring inside which makes it easy to clip accessories inside the pouch and not worry about them floating out if the pouch is accidentally left open. I've got the Retra Reflector and Macro Rings set up so that they can be clipped inside the Zeagle pouch. No way will they all fit but I find, usually, that I am using a combination of them and can, generally, store things I'm not using in the pouch.
