Upgrade from Inon Z240 (type4) to Retra Pro X used or Retra Pro Max new?
I have to put my hand up as having gone through the route Z240 - Retra ProX - Retra ProMax. I’ve never regretted for a second the move from Inon to Retra. I loved the Z240s but the Retras are way ahead in terms of power, ergonomics, build quality, functionality, light quality, accessories. I moved to the ProMax about a year ago. The reduction in size of the additional battery pack was a prime driver. Yes, they are significantly more expensive than the Pro X but value for money is, I think, a bit of a subjective term. I think they’re well worth the cost. I got a pretty decent price for my Pro Xs so was happy to find the extra. I find the Retra strobe/LSD combination fabulous, their reflector a super bit of kit. I use HSS a lot shooting into the sun. All in all, I’m really happy with what I have and zero buyer’s remorse. If the price of the Pro Max doesn’t represent VFM for you, how about second hand Pro Xs. They are to be found and I really doubt you’d regret getting them.

Essential Spares for Underwater Photography?
Sounds like youve had a problem with housing handles?! I take spare o-rings, batteries, Allen keys, fibre optic cable and connectors- and a spare strobe trigger. That’s about my lot. Space and weight are always the issue.

New on this site
I seem to remember someone was using the Z14-30 with the Sea&Sea correction lens. @RichN was that you?

Fibre Optic Cables? Make your own....
What a super idea! I've not had the problem of the cables getting trapped (yet?) but this is a clever way around it. Thanks, Michael.

Lightroom CC Question - How to Delete from NAS
Yep, using the CTRL-A or Command-A should select all the pics. But, yeah, otherwise one at a time! As atus says too, it's really important that you use LR to do everything: import into LR, move, copy, delete, rename etc within LR. If you change something outside LR (eg directly in a folder on your NAS) it rapidly becomes a mess and the LR catalog won't know what has happened. This leads to all sorts of issues which can be very hard to sort out. LR is a great a program but you must work within at all times.

Lightroom CC Question - How to Delete from NAS
Hi! Well in theory it should be straight-forward..... Assuming LR knows the images are on your NAS (so they show up in the LR Library catalogue as being on your NAS drive): - use the filters in Library Grid mode to show all the images you want to delete - highlight them all using CTRL-A (Windows) or Command-A (Mac) - then hit your delete key. - it'll ask if you want to remove them from the hard drive (ie your NAS) or from the LR catalogue. - If you want to get rid of them permanently, select Remove from Drive (or at least whatever option is NOT remove from LR). - as the image are on a NAS you might get a warning that the images will be deleted and can't be sent to or retrieved from, eg, your Bin. - select Yes or OK... or some such And that should be that......

Philippines trip advice sort.
Not sure it'd be any better with full frame! It's all about timing - and luck. Just one suggestion: as David and others say, these rascals come out at dusk so low-light environments. They can be quite tricky to spot as the light decreases and they dart in and out holes in the reef. It can be quite handy to spot them before they make a dash for their mid-water "tryst". I found this is best done with a low intensity red light - not white. White puts them off (well, it would, wouldn't it?). And a red light seems rather appropriate......

Divers in the image: Underwater Modelling
Yep, super fins and body shape/pose. Bloody fish. There's an old music hall/stage saying in the UK: "never work with children and animals". Add fish.
