  1. Not a problem. No worries.
  2. Guys, we are starting to approach the amber line in terms of the tone of recent posts. Let’s not get too personal please.
  3. Subject matter aside, what size prints are you trying to achieve? A 24MP camera should be able to produce a good A3 print without too much difficulty. I used to do this regularly with a Nikon D300. If you’re not using strobes at all, it’s almost inevitable that images could look flat and lifeless. I’d argue it’s impossible to light a reef scene but by lighting a small, featured element of the reef, you can create, vibrancy and image depth.

Hi Edy! You made it finally! Good to have you with us. We hope you really enjoy this now relatively new forum. Best wishes.
  5. It’s the EVF review facility which I find really appealing in switching to mirrorless. Terrific not to have to switch between the viewfinder and the screen to review.
  6. Yay! Good Man!!! Thanks.
  7. Hey Martin Like Dave, I like Stix floats. They seem indestructible, a reasonable price, easy to change on the arms - and not too heavy. On arm lengths, I go with 1 x 20cms plus 1 x 13cms for each of my two strobes. I have tried 26cm arms too with a 13cm but found these a bit floppy and hard to lockdown. I've always found the 20+13 combination good for macro and wide-angle.
  8. Wow, that’s quite a landmark, Alex. Congratulations.

.... and you get two reusable wine corks too. Essential for any home. Cheers!
  11. The team at Waterpixels are delighted to announce that our 1000th member, @Grega joined the Waterpixels community on 15 March. An especially warm welcome to Grega! Thanks to all those who have signed up since we started in Dec 2023. We reached our 500th member in February 2024 and have seen a continuous stream of people signing up since then. We'd like to thank members for continuing to engage so positively and in a great spirit of willingness to share and be helpful. We're especially delighted that unpleasant exchanges continue to be few and far between, sadly a rarity on an online forum. It's the contributions to the forum from members and their willingness to share experiences, ideas and advice that has allowed the site to continue growing so positively. We look forward to everyone's ongoing contributions and to many new members coming onboard. Great to have you all with us!

Good to have you with ups, Johan. Welcome to Waterpixels. I've just read your strobe issue. Annoying, especially with a trip coming up. Sorry, I'm not sure I can be of much help (my only thought was a trigger battery issue) but I'm sure others will weigh in. Standby! Best wishes Tim
  14. As brightnight says, a sharp blade is important to get a clean cut especially if you are thinking of using TTL. A box cutter is ideal.
  15. Fair enough, Chris. I'm sure all system are not alike. It could be, too, that I'm just too lazy to make the changes....
  16. Over the years I’ve found that a change of lens/port doesn’t usually make such a dramatic change of buoyancy that it’s worth endless shifting of floats, adjusting of buoyancy arms etc. If you get reasonably neutrally buoyancy for a 60mm macro setup, I’ve found that to be about a reasonable average. Changing port and lens from that will increase or decrease buoyancy slightly. But rarely enough to be troublesome.
  17. Hi Dave I get nothing when clicking on the link. May be better to upload a copy of the image to your post?
  18. As Barmaglot says: luggage scale. Works a treat.

  21. Hey! For me Red Sea is fisheye country and I use either the Tokina 10-17 on my D500 or the Nikkor 8-15. I'd use either of those for the wrecks or reefs. When I was shooting a D800 I only used the Sigma 15mm. So on your Z7, I'd go with the 8-15 set to the 15mm end with a small dome. Nice for travelling. Maybe it's just me and I'm spoiled by Lembeh and the Philippines, but I've never found macro worthwhile in the RS. So to keep weight down, I don't take a macro lens but do take a Z6III for topside with, usually, either the Z 24-70mm or 24-200mm. I couldn't see a use for the 24-70 underwater. Have a great time!

Well it's about time! Good to have you with us finally and welcome to your new home. 😉 Yep, very sad about Wetpixel but lots of folks have moved here so I'm sure you'll see lots of familiar names. A warm welcome, horvendile.
